EMU is 5 days old in this photo with its friend baby chick brown and green.  In a few sentences please explain the difference between the two birds.

  1. A more obvious difference between the two birds is that chicken hatches in 21 days and the emu hatches in about 8 weeks. Another big difference is the size difference. The emu is a larger bird even when a baby and the chick is a smaller type of bird. The emu is the second largest bird and compared to the chicken full grown, it is a huge difference in size. Another noticeable difference is the way they look. The chicks usually (but not all the time) look the same but, the emu have patterns on them.

  8. The difference between the two birds. One the chicken is small, it lays eggs year round. The chicken is an animal you can have in your backyard it could be your pet. Now as for the emu. The emu is a large bird that doesn’t lay eggs year round. The emu can be your pet as long as you have a big property it could not be in your backyard.
