Sooooooo its getting closer to hatch day for our emu's eggs. Today lets learn a few ways to test an emu egg to see if there is anything inside it after 33 days. Below are a few questions to answer.

Week #6

                                         Hummmm I wonder what kind of chicks these could be?

Sooooo Today we are going to learn a few things about turkeys. They are a very interesting bird and you can find these birds in the wild or in a local farm. Down below are a few questions that need to be answered and don't forget to have fun:)  

A. What Kinds of Turkeys are there?
B. How much do they weigh when full grown?
C. Which bread of turkey is the best to eat?
D. Does a turkey lay eggs to eat?

Week 4

Soooooo we have passed a few weeks now with the EMU eggs. Should be lots of fun and hope these things hatch in 51 days. But for now here are a few questions to look up.

A. If we decided to slaughter an EMU " Which we will never do" How much meat per carcass?
B. Where could I find EMU meat around the Sacramento valley if I wanted to get some?
C. How much per pound would it be?

Such an interesting bird and look at those feathers.  Emus have three toes on each foot with a claw at the end of each toe and under each foot is a thick cushion pad. So lets discover a few questions. 

A. Each step that an emu takes when walking is about how many feet?
B. Emus are ratites, a group that includes all species of flightless birds what are the types?

First week 2018

Welcome to the first Poultry class for this spring 2018 school year. I would like you all to get ready and have fun because we are going to get EMU eggs next week and try again to hatch them. In a few words please answer the following questions;
