Week 6

This is day 48 for the Two Ostrich eggs and day 58 for the one EMU egg. So in a few sentences please explain why do you think they did not hatch? I can say the Temp and humidity are perfect as of 96.7* and stable 30% humidity. So what can be the problem?

  2. For the emu egg, the egg did not hatch because the egg was not fertile. As for the ostrich egg, maybe we took the egg out so many times and was moving alot that it turned on accident which stopped it from evolving. Because the body and all its features was there, it just looked like it stop in the middle of the process.

  3. We cracked open one of the ostrich eggs and the emu egg. The emu egg was not fertile and the ostrich egg did not fully develop. The ostrich egg had it's, arms, legs, beak, eyes, and body structure, but it did not have feathers. Hopefully from the things we know we can find out why the ostrich egg only partly developed. - Desaray Hacker

  14. I think that the egg did not hatch because we handled it so much with candling and weighing it. We have so many oils on our hands so it could really affect it.
