Week 6

Welcome to another fun week with poultry.


This week we are going to learn about turkeys. In a Paragraph tell me what you know about turkeys.  Such as how many different turkeys are their or what do they eat or what are they used for or how big do they get or what do they eat and so on.

  1. there are ten different breeds of turkeys but there could be more breeds world wide, wild turkey thrive near mature forest in the spring they tend to to eat leaves and grasses, in the fall they feed more on fruits, berries, seeds and insects. some turkeys are for commercial use and others could be used for pets. -cesar cholico

  2. There are many breeds of turkeys, Most turkeys are wild that live in forests they adapt to the environment around them . They will eat insects , leaves , fruit ,woody plants , berries , grasses ,seeds,and nuts.some turkeys are commericial that are for sale and other are heritage that are for breeding or pets they will live to 2-3 years.

There are over 6 different species of wild turkeys.Each of the turkey subspecies are to a certain endemic to a certain region and have different colors, and sizes but all are mostly wild turkeys.Turkeys become more mature around 5 to 6 months of age;while females lay there eggs every other day in the spring and early summer.Turkeys eat fruits,nuts of woody plants. But during the spring they tend to eat grasses and leaves.

  4. Turkeys are amazing birds that have a role in nature that makes them important to the ecosystem. For example many turkeys will feed on almost any type of insects. There are many types of turkeys. Here are 3 breeds, Bronze turkey,Royal Palm turkey, and Midget White turkey. A cool thing about these birds is that the females live about 2 two 3 years. While the male can live for 6 to 7 years (in its natural habitat)Most turkeys are commonly known for a big holiday called Thanksgiving.

  7. I don’t know much about turkey off the top of my head but they aren’t pretty big birds. Turkeys are very popular especially during Thanksgiving. There are around 6 types of turkeys; Rio Grande, Eastern Wild, Merriam, Florida, Gould’s and South Mexican. Turkeys eat berries, woody plants and other fruits. The weight of turkeys vary according to its species and gender.

  9. There 6 different types of turkeys that I saw on the internet.They tend to not grow too big and they are very important around thanksgiving.They eat mostly fruits but they can eat plants sometimes as well.

  15. there is a few different kinds of turkeys there is the royal palm turkey, the bronze turkey and the midget white turkey they eat things like berries, nuts, leaves, and grass. a turkey gets about 2 feet y’all all depends on the species
